wow....i have really had a good run with this business.  this little idea of mine sparked in the summer of 2006, and after 6 years i am taking a break....from printing anyway, not from making.

i just want to say "thank you" to everyone who supported me through the last 6 years.  i have loved every minute of making and selling my printed items.  on my way to work yesterday i saw a lady walking up the street wearing one of my old school flower bird tees.  it made my heart leap a little to see her looking so pretty in my tee.  and the shirt still looked good after what would be a few years of wear since i haven't printed those in some time.  i can honestly say that all of my customers have given me just the biggest ego boost ever these past few years.  there is no greater feeling than the pride i have felt when receiving compliments about my work....so, thank you, thank you thank you!

while i am happy to be taking a break from printing as a business, i am so sad that i will not be as involved with the amazing community of artists that i have met in portland.  i have met true friends through this "work".  obviously, i will stay in touch, but i will miss sitting next to you all at the various crafty events throughout the year.  you all bring such joy to my life, and fill my spirit with your friendship.  i am always inspired by the work of this community, and so thankful to be a part of your lives.

my last and most important shout out is to my family....thank you husband for being so supportive of my creative needs.  thank you for taking care of our children while i worked, and just for being you.  i love you!...btw, this doesn't mean that i quit making things.  in other words, i still want to make things (different things), so i might need your help and understanding again in the future :)

and, to the 2 wee little boys in my life.  i am so proud to be your mama.  i am proud that you saw me work hard to create this business, and that you saw how a little drawing could inspire people and make money for our family at the same time.  i hope that you let your creative selves run wild throughout your lifetime!
